Mount Dandenong is a small town in greater Melbourne and has an elevation of 633 meters AHD and is a 13.1km away from Lilydale. Originally Mount Dandenong was to be named Mount Carhanwarrabul but there were numerous problems with the spelling and pronunciation of the name, the Surveyor-Generals office decided to change it. As well as its cool temperatures Mount Dandenong is known for Sky High, the popular tourist destination that showcases the breath taking views of Melbournes eastern suburbs at the numerous viewing platforms and also includes a restaurant, cafe, picnic facilities, formal gardens and a giant chair for everyone in the family to enjoy.
