What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a physical treatment that focuses on the science of movement to help clients restore, maintain and maximise their physical strength, function, motion and overall wellbeing.  Through patient centred care Physiotherapists diagnose, plan and manage a variety of health issues through movement, manual therapy, education and advice. 

About Lilydale

Lilydale is an outer suburb of Melbourne, located 34 kilometres North-East of the CBD in the beautiful Yarra Valley, is sits on the Woiwurrung Territory and is specifically part of. The Kulin Nation. Although some people believe Lilydale was named after the song “Lilly Dale” by H.S. Thompson in 1852, it was actually named after an early settler Lilly de Castella. Lilly was the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Anderson whom was one of eight nominated non-elected members of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, he was in commandment at Norfolk Island from 1835-1839. Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Anderson, Lilly de Castella and her husband Paul de Castella co-owned Yering station and therefore Anderson Street was named after the colonel and parallel street Castella was named after Lilly’s husband Paul. Well known in Lilydale is the Lillydale Lake, an artificial lake and wetlands area that covers over 100 hectares and  was established in 1990, today it is known for its walking trails, off lead dog area, recreational facilities and community room. Not only is Lilydale home to the Lillydale Lake but it is also the starting point for the Warburton Trail, a 38km walking, cycling and horse riding track that stretches along the former Warburton Railway Line but it will also be the starting point for the Yarra Valley Trail, a new trail that will connect Lilydale, Yarra Glen and Healesville, is is still in development however the first 7.5km is open which connects Lilydale to Yering via Coldstream.
