THE GLA:D PROGRAM FOR YOU!

At Exercise Thought we have highly experienced and trained physiotherapist who offer GLA:D consultations in a 1 on 1 environment and small group setting.

The GLA:D program involves you attending 12 supervised classes over a 6 weeks period together with 2 educational sessions.

GLA:D, Good Life with osteoArthritis: is an exercise and education program developed by researchers for people with hip and knee osteoarthritis.

Conducted by Physiotherapist who have completed the specialised GLA:D Australia training, participants undertake twelve, one hour standardised but individual group exercise classes and two education sessions. Both the Exercise and Education sessions are interactive and allow class participants to share ideas with each other and problem solve with the Physiotherapist.

WHAT CAN GLA:D DO FOR ME?

Research from the GLA:D® program in Australia shows an average pain reduction of 36%, reduced analgesic consumption, reduction in perceived need for surgery, and clinically meaningful improvement in joint confidence.

GLA:D® Education and exercises provided can be applied to everyday activities, ensuring participants develop skills to self-manage their osteoarthritis. By strengthening and improving confidence with exercise, participants develop better capacity to become or stay active, prevent symptom progression and reduce pain.
